Meet the Team

Christopher A. Sahm

Chief Executive Officer

Mentored since childhood by his grandfather, the founder in 1948 of Elixir Industries, a nationwide manufacturing company, Chris was well prepared to lead that company as Chief Operating Officer, President, and Chief Executive Officer from 2002 to 2015. Chris continues the Elixir legacy as Chief Executive Officer of Elixir Extrusions, the successor company of this former division of Elixir Industries.

Before joining the national sales team of Elixir Industries in 1996, Chris earned a BS in Science from University of California-Santa Barbara, taught 8th grade classroom science, sold real estate, and for five years was President of Players Golf, Inc., a golf club design and manufacturing company.

Philip L. Smith

President

Philip Smith was named President of Elixir Extrusions, LLC on May 1, 2015.

After serving in the US NAVY, He enrolled in college and graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology.

His 31 years of experience includes Electrical Project Management, Metal production, Metal Fabrication, and Engineering. For the past 23 years, he has served Elixir Extrusions in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering and Sales. In 2006, after advancing the company’s culture, he was promoted to General Manager where he worked in that capacity until April of 2015. He started with a vision to enhance the plant capabilities from light fabrication such as punching and cutting, to be a premiere aluminum extrusion fabricator, featuring CNC machining, bending, robotic welding, assembly and precision cutting. Now as President of Elixir Extrusions, LLC, he manages a team of professionals who specialize in Aluminum Extrusions, Fabrication, and Finishing, producing products that are used worldwide and touching every business sector.

In addition to his devotion to Elixir Extrusions, he serves his community as a member of the Board of Trustees for the South Georgia State College, Georgia Primitive Baptist Youth Camp and the Douglas Lions Club. He served as a Board member for the Coffee County Chamber of Commerce for 4 years and is still active with the Economic Development Authority.He enjoys playing and singing bluegrass gospel music with an entourage of local talent, including members of the church he has pastored for over 23 years. His favorite pastime is being with family and his church family, preaching, teaching, and fellowshipping.

Steve Jones

Steve began his aluminum extrusion career in 1980, working hands-on in virtually every aspect of manufacturing while earning his BBA in Management from Valdosta State University. He has extensive experience in extrusion practice development, quality system implementation, and lean manufacturing initiatives, working for extruders in the United States and benefiting from benchmarking abroad.

Joining the sales team at Elixir in 2007, Steve helped grow the customer base, with particular emphasis on the fabrication market. With a focus on integrity and a commitment to excellence in all areas of business, he has forged solid relationships that create value for customers, employees, and the community. He helps lead the company as one of the best full-service extruders in the Southeast.

Beverly Whitley

Customer Service Manager

Beverly has over 22 years of experience serving in various areas of customer service, working her way up to Manager over all of customer service. Previous to working at Elixir, Beverly worked in the retail and accounting field. Beverly oversees a staff responsible for maintaining daily contact with customers, invoicing all orders, troubleshooting any problems and overall management of all areas related to customer service. Beverly is married and has two grandchildren. Church and family occupy Beverly’s spare time.

Aaron Shearl

Aaron began his career at Elixir in 2010 while pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Georgia Southwestern University, where he earned membership into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. Initially hired as a Supervisor in the Fabrication Department, Aaron was promoted to Sales Representative in 2012.

In 2015 Aaron was again promoted to Accounts Manager. In this role he is responsible for Company-wide customer support, building and maintaining relationships with current and prospective customers, growing Elixir's customer base and quoting new business. Aaron also assists with new product development, manufacturing process improvement and Elixir's strategic planning.

In addition to being a hard-working and ethical businessman. Aaron is a loyal and dedicated husband and father of three. He is a devout and active member of the United Methodist Church. He also serves his community as a youth sports volunteer and as a member of the Douglas Lions Club.

Andy Altonji

Account Manager

A veteran of the aluminum industry, Andy has a strong working knowledge of aluminum extrusions and secondary processes. He enjoys using his experience to help customers solve their extrusion needs.

Andy has a degree in Business Administration/Marketing from the University of Alabama-Huntsville. He and his family reside in Scottsboro, AL – the same place his aluminum career began in 1979! Andy looks forward to serving and assisting you on your next aluminum product launch.

Tony Young

Club Car Account Manager

Tony has over 30 years of experience in tooling, manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, sales, and management. Tony began with Elixir in 2003 as a production assistant. Later in 2006, Tony was promoted to Accounts Manager. In this role he managed several key accounts for Elixir Extrusions. In 2019, Tony was promoted to the current position of Plant Manager. Along with a team of professionals, he is responsible for all aspects of production for Elixir Extrusions.

Tony is married and enjoys time with family and friends. College football and fishing are his favorite pastimes.

Earl Mullis

Engineer

Earl has over 34 years in the extrusion industry. His experience in the industry is unprecedented, covering almost every imaginable position including production, running drill press, cutting dies on an EDM machine and programming CNC mills. Earl then utilized his industry knowledge of dies and transitioned into drafting and engineering. Currently, Earl’s role with Elixir is engineering and sales support. These duties include aiding in product design, drafting to their specifications and supporting the customer’s engineering team in product design and development.

Earl is married with five children. He enjoys time with his family.
